I\u2019m sorry.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve got to confess.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I\u2019ve been judgmental.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I\u2019ve been indignant.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I\u2019ve convinced myself that I am totally right, forgetting how limited my perspective may be.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I\u2019ve forgotten that of course, my perspective is limited; I am <\/em>incapable<\/em><\/strong> of seeing absolutely all things.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many times I have allowed my emotion to dictate my truth. And because I <\/em>feel <\/em><\/strong>this way, I <\/em>know<\/em><\/strong> \u2014 <\/em>I know<\/em><\/strong> \u2014 my gut is right on. And then I allow the fact that I think I know to justify my entire behavior.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I actually behave?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ah, yes\u2026 there comes the judgment\u2026 the indignation\u2026 the \u201cyes, we can talk about it, but inside, I am right, and you will be the only one of us that needs to change. I <\/em>know<\/em><\/strong> that\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wow\u2026 what a conversation killer.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a mind block.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What an obstacle for even the most intelligent.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I pause here. Sighing. Thinking about how I get in the way.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because there is a realization that too many times we suggest all-of-the-above only applies to someone other than self. Someone other than \u201cme.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And just like that once more we miss the point.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once more we play God.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We play God by acting as if we <\/em>don\u2019t <\/em><\/strong>have more to learn\u2026 that we <\/em>do<\/em><\/strong> have life all figured out\u2026 that we really can see all sides of something\u2026 all 360\u00b0 of perspective\u2026\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We play God by thinking <\/em>we<\/em><\/strong> are so wise\u2026 <\/em>we<\/em><\/strong> are so good\u2026 <\/em>we<\/em><\/strong> have so much to teach the world around us\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We play God when we fail to be humble.\u00a0That’s\u00a0it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We play God when we treat any one person or people group as lesser.\u00a0Any\u00a0one.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hence, as God advocates for treating no one lesser, we play God when we forget about Him.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let it never be said of us that we have forgotten God.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let it never be said of us that we have failed to remember the great big, awesomely creative, Creator of the universe.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That realization should profoundly affect the way we treat <\/em>all<\/em><\/strong> people\u2026 and not just those that agree with us or we consider likeminded. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That realization should profoundly affect how we funnel the information we hear and consider what is true.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That realization should profoundly affect you and me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Respectfully\u2026 still thinking, too\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
