Maybe I\u2019m crazy. Maybe I\u2019m not. But I\u2019ve seen good things come of this unprecedented time. I also know it\u2019s been hard and unexpected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through my personal, professional, counseling, mediation, and other multiple encouraging efforts\u2026 through witnessing those who\u2019ve had birthdays, graduations, celebrations, and have intentionally commented how this time has been like no other\u2026 so different\u2026 acknowledging the inability to gather and to touch\u2026 to touch, I say again. Still people have said what they most wanted to say\u2026 through drive by\u2019s, acknowledgements\u2026. we\u2019ve been more deliberate in our wishes and words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hence, the Intramuralist continues to ask questions\u2026 remembering that the question mark is the only punctuation piece that invites a response\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2026 willingly\u2026 wanting\u2026 expectantly\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And so in my desire to continue to handle the quarantine in a wise way, recognizing each of us \u2014 no matter our age or stage \u2014 has an opportunity to grow, I ask 10 simple questions\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2026 humbly \u2026 always\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
1. Is it ok for us to have different levels of outrage in response to all this corona crud?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Are any of us in a position in which we can tell everyone else how they need to respond?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
3. Does it make sense that there\u2019s a difference in how people in different parts of the county respond? In other words, should we expect the same in jam-packed New York City compared to Big Sky, blue Montana?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
4. What good have you seen during this time? Is there anything that\u2019s still amazing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
5. Who are you putting your trust in? \u2026 a person, government, something better and more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
6. What will actually be better as a result of this? Can you see anything better and more?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
7. If the great big God of the universe has allowed this crazy time to exist, believing he\u2019s big enough and so much more powerful and able to stop all now if he wants to, what might he want each of us to learn and glean from this situation? What is that? Is there something?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then I must also ask\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
8. Where have I judged another person, actually finding fault in them, because their approach and their emotion and reaction to this is different than my approach and my emotion?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
9. Was my judgment wise? \u2026 or was I thinking I\u2019m capable of superseding the role of the great big God of the universe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No man is perfect. No one is right in all they think and believe. Am I humble enough to acknowledge such?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And one more Q\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
10. In ESPN\u2019s recent, totally awesome \u201cLast Dance\u201d documentary, detailing the end of Michael Jordan\u2019s NBA career, they say that Michael never allowed what he couldn\u2019t control to get inside his head. In this crazy time, that seems totally applicable\u2014 do I recognize that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where do I let things inside my head that I can\u2019t control?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Where do I lash out inappropriately on social media?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And where do I then treat others wrongly because they aren\u2019t responding as I am?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hmmm\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m thinking I\u2019m maybe not so crazy\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2026 even though each of us have so much more to learn\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
