Since absolutely none of us have cornered the market on wisdom, let us simply encourage a few significant things this day\u2026 things we believe to be of foremost prudence and importance\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Love your neighbor well.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Seek to understand them.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Refrain from judgment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Refrain from any salt-putting in wounds. Gloating is never attractive.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Know majorities portray popularity \u2014 not necessarily wisdom. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Watch the insults.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Maybe stay off social media. Watch the regular media, too; the bias is bad and not always admitted. This isn’t news, friends..<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Know when to speak and when to be silent. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Put yourself not only in another\u2019s shoes \u2014 but in the shoes of many. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Treat everyone with dignity.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Honor whoever is in authority.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n No shame. Ever.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Work for unity; know that unity doesn’t mean others finally come to think like me.<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n And remember there are things \u2014 people and relationships, family and faith \u2014 that are far more important. They always will be.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Friends, the reality is this election will come and go. Don\u2019t over index to the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And for the record, I wrote this post prior to any public results. I actually wrote it days ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Why?
