Years ago I was asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s your favorite punctuation mark?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 At the time, truth be told, I found it a fairly funny item to be asked.\u00a0 I pondered for some time.\u00a0 And some more.\u00a0 Then we come to days like today where I realize the answer to that question is easy for me indeed.\u00a0 It always has been…<\/p>\n

Random questions… Why?\u00a0 Because asking is always easier than answering…\u00a0 and it still leads to growth…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why is the Chinese government increasing their arrests of Christians involved in \u201chouse churches\u201d?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why does any church have to be underground?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why (referencing our most recent blog, \u201cThe Holy and the Common\u201d) is mocking Jesus Christ considered entertainment but mocking Muhammed prompts an apology by the American government?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why do congressional men and women \u2014 who haven\u2019t balanced a budget since the days of Bill Clinton \u2014 continue to be paid and employed?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why does our government think massive deficit spending is an appropriate economic approach?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why are we calling sequestration \u201ccuts\u201d when actually we\u2019re cutting nothing?\u00a0 Sequestration only means we don\u2019t spend as much as previously planned.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What is Pres. Obama\u2019s motive?\u00a0 For a man who is unquestionably, highly intelligent, how can he continue to advocate spending and borrowing money at an unsustainable rate \u2014 overseeing a massive expansion of those dependent on government assistance, while focusing on tax increases that are not expected nor proven to make a significant difference \u2014 if any?<\/em><\/p>\n

How do massive tax increases actually help the economy?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Does the audience realize that many of the Academy Award recipients are actually inebriated when engaged in their passionate, acceptance speech rants?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Does Hollywood really represent America well?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How come wine has calories?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why are professional athletes paid more than teachers and preachers?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why is the Pope resigning?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is the winner of \u201cAmerican Idol\u201d actually an American idol?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Are idols healthy and good?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is the NFL America\u2019s favorite sport?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why are we so mad in March?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And…\u00a0 and…<\/p>\n

… what is the Intramuralist\u2019s favorite punctuation mark?<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It can only be the question mark… for nothing else has the distinct potential to prompt increased reflection, contemplation, and respectful \u2014 hopefully<\/em> \u2014 conversation.<\/p>\n
