If you spend some time with me for a while, you will soon notice I have a few quirky quirks and even odder (albeit fairly creative)<\/em> obsessions.\u00a0 I even have a favorite form of punctuation.\u00a0 I absolutely adore the question mark!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Question marks.\u00a0 What other punctuation mark spurs on continued discussion?\u00a0 What other punctuation mark encourages dialogue \u2014 and thus, solution and growth? \u00a0What other mark allows best for active listening? \u00a0The Intramuralist has lots<\/em><\/strong> of questions.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Most recently, we have lots<\/em><\/strong> of questions about the IRS…\u00a0 the branch of the federal government that reports to the Executive Branch, that was intentionally targeting conservative and religious groups…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Who knew what when?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Who is responsible?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why can\u2019t the acting director inform us who was responsible?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWhy did the IRS await until after the election to admit wrongdoing?\u201d\u00a0 (… from NBC\u2019s Lisa Meyers…)<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How can the commissioner say that \u201cit is absolutely not illegal\u201d?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why were liberal groups not treated the same way?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How are we to believe the motive was not political?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is \u201cnot remembering\u201d a convenient way of not admitting truth?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Who in the White House knew?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is it possible Pres. Obama could not have known?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why didn\u2019t the President answer who in the White House knew?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is it a requirement for the Press Secretary to be honest and transparent?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Or are all press secretaries simply poised to diffuse controversy?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How significant is it that all parties are outraged at the IRS activity?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Can we trust the IRS as an objective enforcer of Obamacare?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is it concerning that Sarah Hall Ingram, who served as the head of the office responsible for tax-exempt organizations \u2014 during the time they targeted Tea Partiers \u2014 now serves as the director of the IRS’ Affordable Care Act division?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is that wise?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And perhaps my number one question this day…<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Is there a better case for limited government?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Friends, that\u2019s not a political talking point.\u00a0 My opinion is this…\u00a0 as the size of any entity increases, so does the potential for inefficiency and corruption.\u00a0 That\u2019s a logical conclusion.\u00a0 Too many people are seduced by the power; people are not all motivated by what is good.\u00a0 I don\u2019t believe that the unscrupulous behavior in the IRS was known nor directed by the entire agency nor entire Executive Branch; there are many aspects of which we are unaware.\u00a0 However, the simple fact that the federal government has grown in size, stature, and massive dollar amount is reason to pause \u2014 knowing the potential for greater overreach and abuse is more likely in the future.<\/p>\n
