It is no secret; the Intramuralist loves the \u201cnew\u201d of the new year.\u00a0 Not because of Times Square nor any confetti or massive, glitzy, dropping ball.\u00a0 Not either because of more quaint celebrations in the privacy of our own homes.\u00a0 The Intramuralist loves the \u201cnewness\u201d because of the obvious opportunity it fords… to briefly look back… but then to surge ahead.\u00a0 The past is the past; the slate is clean.\u00a0 And no matter the good, bad, or ugly, we now move forward.<\/p>\n

For pundits and politicians and sportsman and celebrities \u2014 for ordinary people such as you and me \u2014 moving forward is refreshing.<\/p>\n

Historically, no less, when a moment of \u201cnewness\u201d occurred, ordinary people set a stone in the ground to mark the occasion.\u00a0 They didn\u2019t mark the moment in order to cast in stone any past fear or failure; they solidly marked the moment so that they could learn from the past \u2014 and grow into the future.\u00a0 To make the most of what\u2019s ahead of us.\u00a0 Hence, there is a beauty in what\u2019s to come.\u00a0 There is a beauty in the \u201cnewness.\u201d<\/p>\n
