Here\u2019s one thing I love that perhaps others can’t always\u00a0see\u2026<\/p>\n

We share a post. We invite conversation, dialogue, even disagreement \u2014 valuing how we can be sharpened by differing opinion, respectfully stated. And then on Tuesday, for example, over 2,000\u00a0people read our post\u2026 wow… thank you…\u00a0Thank you for engaging in real, respectful dialogue!!<\/em><\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know all those who read and participate\u2026 not even the half of them. But here\u2019s what I do know\u2026<\/p>\n

I heard so positively from so many.\u00a0There were affirmations from the following:<\/p>\n

\u2026 men\u2026
\n\u2026 women\u2026
\n\u2026 gay\u2026
\n\u2026 straight\u2026
\n\u2026 black\u2026
\n\u2026 white\u2026
\n\u2026 Latino\u2026
\n\u2026 Asian\u2026
\n\u2026 Christian\u2026
\n\u2026 Jewish\u2026
\n\u2026 agnostic\u2026
\n\u2026 married\u2026
\n\u2026 single\u2026
\n\u2026 young\u2026
\n\u2026 old\u2026
\n\u2026. somewhere in between\u2026
\n\u2026 Republican\u2026
\n\u2026 Democrat\u2026
\n\u2026 Libertarian\u2026
\n\u2026 Independent\u2026
\n\u2026 Feminist\u2026
\n\u2026 Meninist\u2026
\n\u2026 People I know\u2026
\n\u2026 People I don\u2019t\u2026
\n\u2026 from America\u2026
\n\u2026 from elsewhere\u2026
\n\u2026 from the heartland\u2026
\n\u2026 from the coasts\u2026
\n\u2026 from the country\u2026
\n\u2026 from the city\u2026<\/p>\n

Such a beautiful, sweet, diverse group. I treasure that. It is a humbling privilege to hear from so many.<\/p>\n

And what\u2019s more beautiful? We found common ground\u2026 real, authentic, common ground.<\/p>\n

Are you willing to pursue common ground?<\/em><\/p>\n

Or\u2026 are you only ok if everyone else adopts your opinion<\/strong>\u2026 assuming, that is, that you know what’s totally, rightly, best?<\/em><\/p>\n

If we are going to navigate through this polarizing season humbly, wisely, and well, then we need to recognize none of us have life all figured out. We need to cede all ego and arrogance.<\/p>\n

And we need to get off our political high horses, foolishly waiting for everyone else to adopt our opinion. Surely there exists something better and more\u2026 as evidenced by the 30 varied people groups listed above.<\/p>\n

Praise God. He is good. And he is wiser than we.<\/p>\n

Let’s start by acknowledging that.<\/p>\n
