PERSON/QUOTE OF THE DAY

NANCY JACOBSON

The founder and CEO of the bipartisan, problem-solving, centrist political organization, No Labels, and also former fundraiser for the Democratic Party and one of GQ Magazine’s identified “50 Most Powerful People in D.C.” some years ago — in response to Sen. Markwayne Mullin’s congressional hearing last week regarding his candidacy as the new Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security:

“How often in Washington do you see two lawmakers from opposite sides of the aisle genuinely praising each other’s work and friendship?

Not enough.

No Labels has always understood – and Washington too often forgets – that relationships matter. So much of what we do in Washington is working behind the scenes to build bridges. Today, it was heartening to see the whole country be able to witness the kind of warm, civil interactions we get to see all the time in No Labels-organized working groups.”

_____

Ok, ok… I’m a little partial to this one. I adore him. I am impressed Amazed. Respect him, no doubt. He is good at what he does. I love having a front row seat to this young man’s life! He learns. He grows. He adjusts and pivots to what is wise to be successful. And he’s incredibly gifted. I can’t wait to see how his talents continue to be utilized! He will go far.

And as a spring graduate of The Ohio State University, that professional path begins now. He is making a difference. Granted, the only problem the Intramuralist has is that he still insists on putting that “the” in front of the name of his beloved alma mater. (Insert sigh with gratitude filled here.]
